If you haven't signed a permission form for using your Scout's pictures on our pack website or Facebook page, let Matt Walsh, John, or Alex know. If you would not like your Scout's photos used, please let one of us know as well. Please like our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CentralFloridaPack39 if you haven't done so yet. We are beginning planning our summer activities and next year's program. Let Alex know if you want to be included on the planning email list. We will also be working on planning during our committee meetings starting in May. We will be planning our budget, weekend activities such as hikes and campouts, and pack meetings. All parents are encouraged to sign up for the planning email list and to attend committee meetings, even if you just want to observe. Let John or Alex know if you are interested in helping out next year as a committee member, assistant den leader, or assistant cubmaster next year. We currently have a great group of volunteers that have helped the pack run a great program this year, and would like more help to make it even better next year.

Pack Trailer: the trailer has had a few repairs done to make it better for longer trips, thank you Alex. There will be more repairs needed and will be done as soon as we can so we can have better organization for all our supplies and the ability to pack Scout supplies for camping trips as well. Thank you for all your support and continued service to our Scouts. This is going to be an exciting year and we are looking forward to watching the Scouts grow through their journey to becoming the example of what Scouts are all about. Please continue to look at the calendar cfcpack39.org for events and check Scoutbook for other messages and resources. Have a great week. Our January 10 pack meeting will be at Lake Mills Park at 6:30. We’ve reserved campsite 6, but we will use group site #5 if it’s available. This is after the park is closed, so a gate code will be sent out Monday in case it’s locked. The Webelos are going to start the campfire, so they should arrive at 6:15 if possible.
We will be participating in the Martin Luther King, Jr. day parade on January 17. We’ll meet at Oviedo High at 9:30. Sign up at http://events.cfcpack39.org/. We need a volunteer to make a banner or signs for the parade. Let Alex know if you can help with this. The Daytona campout is January 21-23. If you didn’t get a couple plants yet, contact your den leader. Lions should contact Alex. Each age level has an adventure that has a requirement to care for a plant. Check with your Scout's den leader so see whether you'll be working on the adventure at meetings or if you should complete them at home. The plant related adventures are below. If you don't have a handbook, you can find current requirements at https://www.boyscouttrail.com/cub-scouts/ Lions - Ready, Set, Grow Tigers - My Tiger Jungle Wolves - Grow Something Bears - Fur, Feathers, and Ferns Webelos - Into the Woods and Adventures in Science Go to Event Sign-up on http://cfcpack39.org to pay for tickets for the Daytona campout (1/21 - 1/23). There's a Square fee of less than $1/person if you pay online. You can also pay $30 per person by cash or check at Monday's den meeting. Checks should be made out to Cub Scout Pack 3039.
Payment has to be submitted by 12/15. If you need to borrow a tent, stove, or other camping equipment let Alex know. Reminder that BSA youth protection rules only allow a Scout to share a tent with immediate family members or other Scouts within 2 years of their age. Everybody needs to submit a BSA health form. This is especially important for Scouts and siblings, more so if they have severe allergies or medical conditions. You can get the form from here: https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/HealthSafety/pdf/680-001_AB.pdf We will have a pack hike on December 18 at 10 AM at the Econ River Wilderness Area, located at 3795 Old Lockwood Rd. Oviedo. The Axolotl Patrol will be hiking 3 miles and the younger Scouts will hike around a mile. To sign up, go to the Event Sign-up section of the pack website, http://cfcpack39.org
Also, remember that we have Scouting for Food this weekend, Liger Growl 11/19-21, and the Space Coast Lightfest Campout on 12/3-5. You can sign up for all of these events on the pack website as well. Please remember that pack dues are due as soon as possible. We will collect them next week and I will send out a link to pay online once it's set up.
The campout this weekend will be at Mullet Lake Park in Geneva. SignUpGenius had the old location listed, but it is at Mullet Lake Park. We'll be in the group site in the back of the camping area.
You can still camp if you didn't RSVP since we have enough room. If you want to camp but don't have a tent, we have some that you can borrow. Let me know in advance though so I can bring one. Even if you aren't camping, feel free to come by just for the day on Saturday. We'll be doing activities in the late afternoon on Saturday and will have a campfire in the evening, so if aren't camping but want to come by that would be a good time. Bring shoes and clothes for the kids that can get wet, because we'll be doing some games where they'll get wet. The campground is right by the St. John's river, so you might want to bring fishing poles. Webelos should bring their pocketknives. All,
